Cinnamon Sugar French Toast

Cinnamon Sugar French Toast

Prep: 5 minutes Cook: 5-10 minutes

This is a fast and easy breakfast. You just get sloppy and a bit messy as you go, but a super sugary and tasty treat! You can make as much or as little as you want. I did just a single serving.

Ingredients

  • 3 slices of bread

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 cup of milk

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 2 tbls cinnamon

Prep

  1. Heat a skillet to a medium heat

  2. In a wide bowl, add the egg, milk, and vanilla

  3. Mix well, I add some cinnamon here as this is how my mom always made normal french toast

  4. In another wide bowl, mix the cinnamon and sugar

  5. Dunk the bread in to the bowl, and coat both sides, you don’t want it dripping and soaked though, just covered

  6. Depending on your skillet, add some butter to prevent sticking if you need to

  7. Add to the skillet and cook a few minutes each side, until it is browned not burned

  8. Remove and add to bowl with the cinnamon and sugar and coat all sides

  9. Enjoy as is, or add syrup or icing!

Afterthoughts

This was super fast and easy to make. I used syrup with it out of habit and while super sugary, it was delicious. This was a fun breakfast and I enjoyed it with a scrambled egg for a little extra protein and salt to combat the sugar rush.
