C'est La Cuisine Feature: Scallop and Shrimp Pasta

Prep: 10 minutes Cook 15

While wanting to make scallops for the first time I decided to have them my favorite way to eat them, in a pasta. Add some shrimp and decide on a sauce and you are good to go.

Ingredients

  • 5-6 scallops

  • 2 tbls butter

  • Garlic powder to taste

  • 5 or so pre-cooked shrimp

  • 2 oz egg noodles

  • Italian herb seasoning to taste

  • Oregano to taste

  • Paprika to taste

  • 1 tbls minced garlic

  • Salt to taste

  • 2 tbls olive oil

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

  • 1/4 onion diced

  • 1/4 red pepper diced

  • 1/4 green pepper diced

  • Dry white wine

  • Lemon juice to taste

  1. Start a pot of water to boil

  2. Add the egg noodles and cook 8 minutes

  3. Meanwhile in a pan on medium heat, add the olive oil

  4. Add the scallops and sear each side 2 minutes each until they are lightly browned

  5. Remove from pan and set aside

  6. Add the butter and melt it

  7. Add the peppers and onion to soften it about 3-5 minutes

  8. Add the minced garlic

  9. Add a splash of lemon juice

  10. Add a of splash of white wine and reduce

  11. Add all seasonings and mix

  12. Add the cream, shrimp and scallops and heat all the way through

  13. Add to a plate with the noodles

This was an amazing dish. The scallops and shrimp cooked perfectly, the Italian cream sauce was the perfect pair with the seafood taste so that it wasn’t overly fishy and just a great meat pair. I highly recommend this easy dish that anyone can make and enjoy.
