Pesto Grilled Cheese
Prep: 5 minutes Bake: 10-15 minutes
I really loved the pesto grilled cheese at the Tavern and have been hobbling together things. I just need to bake it better, and this is a cheap rendition.
Ingredients
2 slices of bread
Sliced mozzarella to cover the bread
I small Romano tomato sliced
2tbls of pesto
Prep
Present oven to 400°f (204°c)
Smear 1 tbls of pesto on each slice of bread
Layer the tomato on a slice on top of pesto
Layer the cheese on the other slice
Close sandwich (you can butter the outside of the slices)
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and add sandwich
Bake for 10-15 minutes or until crispy outside and melty inside
Afterthoughts
This is a cheap and poor rendition but tasty anyway. I will need to practice more to get it down and best. I love the taste of mozzarella and pesto and the tomato goes well with it. An easy snack and treat for everyone and a slightly fancy way to enjoy a grilled cheese.
